What does it cost to register for the HLDC?

$400 for teams that are U9-U12 playing 8 vs. 8 format. $500 for U12 to U18 playing 11 vs. 11 format. There will be an electronic processing/handling charge added at the conclusion of each registration due to 3rd party credit card processing.

What level of teams play in the Houston Labor Day Cup?

With over 300+ teams, the HLDC has vast mixture of Division 1 and Super 2 quality teams for both boys and girls. Teams come all over the state of Texas and neighboring states of Louisiana and Oklahoma to participate. We offer Open and Competitive flights for ages U11 to U18.

What are the registration deadlines?

Deadline for registration will be August 25th unless particular brackets and flights are filled prior to this date.

How can I pay?

You can pay via credit or debit card through our on-line registration.

I am on a team outside of Houston. Is there anything special I need to do?

No. Registration and check-in will be no different. Please make sure that you have all the correct documents ( player cards, signed team roster from your club registrar, coach's Kid's Safe Pass, proof of insurance, signed liability waiver, confirmation of on-line registration payment) before you leave for Houston! When will schedules be posted?

We should have schedules posted by Wednesday, August 27th.

How will I be able to tell which park my team is playing at?

All game locations will be posted on the schedule with specific park locations. Schedules can be accessed throught he Houston Labor Day Cup web site.

Do players have to be registered for the 2008/2009 season in order to play?

Yes. All registrations and player cards need to reflect current registration for Fall 2008/Spring 2009 play. Registrations have to be with an accredited state soccer association (ex. South Texas Youth Soccer Association)

Do medical release forms have to be notarized?

Encouraged but not mandatory. Player waiver release forms have to be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian.

Who do I call in case of rain?

The Houston Labor Day Cup will post up to date weather information on the HLDC web site as well as post field conditions on the Westside SC weather line (281)558-8401.

What time is team check-in?

Team check-in will be Friday, August 29th at the Omni Westside Hotel starting at 6pm. We will not check-in teams from 7-8pm due to the coaches seminar. Check-in will resume at 8pm until 10pm.

What time does the coaches seminar start on Friday, August 29th?

The coaches seminar featuring the Houston Dynamo coaching staff will start at 7pm at the Omni Westside Hotel. Team check-in starts at 6pm. Come early, check in and get a seat!

I notice that in my team's registration I will be provided either 8 or 10 free player tickets to an upcoming Houston Dynamo game. How can I order additional tickets for additional players and family members?

Upon completion of your team's registration, the Houston Labor Day Cup will email the team contact person with additional ticket purchase information. Teams will be able to purchase additional tickets for $20 each (ticket face value is $25).

What award does the HLDC give winning teams?

Both 1st and 2nd place teams will receive the signature Houston Labor Day Cup trophy. The HLDC cup is an actual championship cup that has been a highlight award for over 25 years.

Tell me about the Dynamo Game Day experience.

With the Houston Dynamo as the presenting sponsor, there will be a Fun Zone for kids with inflatables, interactive games and skill challenges. Houston Dynamo player appearance will be scheduled throughout the tournament, so bring your Sharpie and Dynamo gear! There will be a silent auction for signed jerseys and other fun prizes.
